This is a known problem with writing enum fields with pvPut in 7.0.3.

See this core-talk thread.

Subject: pvput and enum (EPICS 7.0.3)

HI

I am running a simple ioc with a bi record

record(bi, "$(user):SimulationMode") {

  field(DESC, "Operational Status")

  field(ZNAM, "NO")

  field(ONAM, "YES")

  field(PINI, "YES")

  field(VAL,  "0")

}

And I was wondering why I cannot change its value (0/1) via pvput

unless I use –p ca option.  Instead pvmnonitor and pvget are working fine.

If I put this line on the record definition

field(INP , "$(user):SimulationMode.RVAL")

Then I can change the .RVAL via pvput and then VAL will change accordingly

Why does pvput work only with Scalar and not with Enum field ?

Is this a feature ?

Thanks

Best
