Hi Alfio,

As Ralph pointed out ProcServ is more like the "screen" command many
Linux users use to keep interactive command-line applications running in
the background. It has a few advantages over screen including more
robust logging and measures that prevent users from accidentally
shutting down the IOC when logging out. However, procServ can only write
messages to its log file if the IOC prints them to stdout/stderr. It's
usually not a good practice to print errors from drivers to the IOC
shell as printing a large number of messages continuously renders the
IOC shell pretty useless. Instead drivers should use the IOC's logging
facilities which send the messages to a remote log server (e.g.
LogStash). procServ's logging facilities are still useful to record
human activity on the IOC shell.
Regards,
Martin
