Just a minor remark and obligatory reminder: The “official” version of the CA protocol specification can be found here:

https://docs.epics-controls.org/en/latest/specs/ca_protocol.html

At the moment it is content-wise almost identical to the R3-16 version that the link below points to but any further updates will show up in the version on docs.epics-controls.org.

On that site you will also find links to the pvAccess protocol specification and a few other things.

Cheers,

Timo

Is this https://epics.anl.gov/base/R3-16/0-docs/CAproto/index.html the documentation you're looking for?

Subject: EPICS Frame Documentation

Hello!

I am doing a couple of experiments trying to work together with EPICS and deterministics networks - TSN (Time Sensitive Networking).

I have been looking through the EPICS documentation and I was not able to find any related to the construction of the EPICS frames. I would like to know if there is some specific documentation about how the EPICS frames are built, because that will be my first required step.

Thank you very much in advance and every information is welcomed.

Pilar
