Hi John,

> Is the Dexela library provided by Perkin Elmer dependent on the specific Camera Link card in these computers? I assume yes but wanted to check.

I assume so, but I am not sure. When you run the MSI installer presumably that installs the driver for the Camera Link card. I doubt if you could substitute cards and drivers and have their library work, but I guess it's possible.

> Are replacement camera link cards available?

I think that is a question for Varex.

> I see that ADDexela mentions SDK version 1.3.1.0. Where did this come from? Varex?

It came from Varex via this line in an e-mail I received from Keith Dowling at Varex on July 17, 2020.

I just checked and that link is still valid.

> Does it require a new camera link card?

Not that I know of. I don't actually own a Dexela detector, so I was not able to test that new version of the SDK, except to see that it builds. That is partly why I have not tagged a new release since updating the SDK version. There are Dexela detectors at the APS, but I doubt if anyone has tried the master branch.

If you can test it that would be great, and then I'll tag a new release.

Mark

Subject: ADDexela hardware

The documentation for ADDexela reads:

"The driver is based upon the Dexela library provided by Perkin Elmer."

and

"This driver has been tested with the following detectors

  * Dexela 1512 with CameraLink frame grabber"

I have two Dexela 2923 running areaDetector. Is the Dexela library provided by Perkin Elmer dependent on the specific Camera Link card in these computers? I assume yes but wanted to check. Are replacement camera link cards available? I see that ADDexela mentions SDK version 1.3.1.0. Where did this come from? Varex? Does it require a new camera link card?
