There's currently no way to _not_ accomplish this.
Macros are passed down from the parent to the child displays (embedded, opened via action button).
Open the example displays, "Macros", "More Macro Hierarchy Examples".

Subject: [EXTERNAL] phoebus forwarding macros
Hi,
I spent a lot of time searching the documentation and tech-talk, but
cannot find a means of
forwarding macros from one display to another. I would like the top
level display to define
a macro value when it opens another display; then I would like this 2nd
display's action
button open another display and either forward or simply keep the macro
value from the
top display. Is there a way to accomplish this?
Thank you,
Pierrick
