- When are FQDNs necessary for the access file?
From the documentation (AppDev Guide): [...] To match, a host name must match the host name read by the CA client library running on the client machine; both names are converted to lower case before comparison however.
The name that a client uses depends on the name resolution service configuration on the client machine. If your client machines use different configurations, the requirements for their mention in the AS configuration file may differ. One way to handle that uncertainty and make the IOC side more robust is to always put the simple name in addition to the fully qualified name in the AS configuration.
