Hi Heinz,
EPICS 7 works with powerpc64-linux, but you have to create your own
base configuration file according to your hardware and the
corresponding cross-compiler. The specific board which I worked on is
PowerPC64 e6500. The base configuration file is the following link,
and I failed to convince Andrew to put them into the base repository
due to a lack of my knowledge.

And most EPICS modules works also.
