Maybe an opportune time to mention the ChannelFinder directory service,
https://channelfinder.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
and the related recsync support module which can _push_ PV lists to it.
This overcomes some of the latency issues inherent in a crawler, so the
directory stays "fresh".
