Subject: Calc Module of SynApps: Issue with long string CALC$

Hello,
When I use the bob file with the PV name in the calc record
as IOC.userCalc1.CALC$. I am unable to enter more than one character in the calc field.
On changing it to IOC:userCalc1.CALC (in the bob file) I am able to enter the formula in the CALC field. I understand that $ symbol is used for long strings in the CALC field. In my case it is not  working. however I am unable to have the calc field more than 36 characters.

This is true for all the CALC$ fields in the calc module. The moment I change the PV to .CALC, it is able to take more than 1 character.

It is not having any issues in storing and restoring the values using autosavebuild.

But when i include the userCalcs10_settings.req files in the scan1Menu.req, I am getting a following error when I load the the configuration

PVname saved_value live_value
    =============================
*** IOC:userCalc1.CALC$    'a/b'                     'a'

This error vanishes if I replace the CALC$ with CALC in the req and bob files. The character count is reduced to 36. I see that the latest calcout record supports 80 characters of the CALC field?

I am using the latest version of SynApps and EPICS on Ubuntu OS. Please advise.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Kuldeep
