When I display "sim://sinewave" or the "waveform" PV from https://github.com/ControlSystemStudio/phoebus/blob/master/core/pva/src/test/resources/demo.db in for example Applications, Display, Probe, I see the array in the format

[47.00, 48.00, 49.00, 50.00, 51.00]

with brackets but no quotes.
I'd only expect quotes when the array elements are strings.
When you say subarray, not sure what you mean, but is that what's adding the string format?
