Hello everyone,

Timo has graciously agree to host a Documentathon & Codeathon at ESS  this August. The Phoebus Tools and Services collaboration is eagerly looking forward to piggybacking on this meeting and making the most of this collective effort.

Phoebus Developers Meeting 2023 Documentathon Update www.phoebus.org, the current website still represents the eclipse based CS-Studio product as the primary tool. With Phoebus being used in production at most facilities the website should be updated to underscore that Phoebus is now the default...

Please feel free to add any additional topics or project ideas that you would like to discuss during the event.

During this event, our main focus will be on working collaboratively on documentation alongside the EPICS base group. Given the recent shift to Phoebus and its increased usage in production facilities, it is crucial that we update our existing documentation to accurately reflect the new environment. Therefore, we aim to dedicate half of our time to documentation tasks.

Additionally, we plan to spend the remaining time working on development projects related to the new middle layer services, such as ChannelFinder Nameserver, Save and Restore, Alarm Logger, etc. The presence of EPICS core developers will be invaluable in guiding design decisions to best leverage the features of the underlying protocol.

We welcome participants with varying levels of prior knowledge of the stack. Fresh perspectives for reviewing of the documentation are particularly encouraged. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute, learn, and collaborate with the Phoebus team.

Cheers,
Kunal
