Dear all,
Professor LIU Sonqiang has sent many talented young individuals into the
international field of accelerators. I have been fortunate to become friends
with several of them. Last week, while I happened to be in Shanghai, I was
saddened to hear that Professor LIU was not in good health.
May he rest in peace.

>> Professor LIU is among the first person who introduced EPICS to China in 1990s. A team led by Professor LIU built the first EPICS-based control system in China for National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Later on in 2000s, Professor LIU was in charge of and instrumental in EPICS-based controls for both Accelerators and Beamlines at Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF).
