I've had no issues (generally) with it on Arch Linux (Endeavor OS), but using dpkg and the provided install script. It isn't really the "proper" solution as I should have built a PKGBUILD for it, though. But it does install into /opt/spinnaker and and run. The deb files mainly put everything in /opt/spinnaker and /usr/share, with an additional ld.so.conf file for the libraries to be pointed to in /opt/spinnaker. It seemed low risk.

There was an environment variable that I also needed to set for it previously, but it tells you on the command line what the variable is when running from a terminal. I believe they fixed the issue in recent releases on Linux as well.

I will say that I haven't been able to use it to set the camera's default IP address, and had to do that in Windows, though. That was with trying both KDE and XFCE, so I'm not sure if it is a theme issue or a missing binding somewhere.
