Thanks, Joshua for the suggestions. We are currently looking for solutions that support HD-SDI and analog video through BNC to replace our old Leitch Panacea video matrix (16 inputs x 16 outputs). As we are increasing our facility now we need a matrix with more inputs. I can get lots of options with HDMI or IP-based solutions but not much with BNCs. Also, we would like to control the switch using simple commands with RS-232/ethernet, such that we can easily implement it using EPICS.

Mrinal,

What video standards? Are you looking for HD-SDI, analog video, or something different? Blackmagic has one that can be Ethernet controlled for a relatively good price (Videohub, https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/developer/products/videohub), otherwise I will say that Vmix (video mixing software for Windows) is absolutely amazing if you would rather build up a machine with your own video I/O gear. If you are looking for something for an old standard, you might be able to get a great deal on the secondary market for an older video router off a production truck.

Then you have things from B&H -- I go there first when searching for video/audio gear. Things like this, for analog video: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1741471-REG/matrix_switch_msc_xv6464s_64_input_x_64.html -- It might be worth giving them a call as well.

The big video gear manufacturers all offer some sort of remote protocol, like Ross Video, Evertz, and Grass Valley. But the exact needs and standards are key to finding something. Some have utility crates that can even be custom populated or expanded as needed.

At least, these are my 2 cents on it.
