Hi Irie,

I have written to Andor technical support to ask if their current SDK supports both the sCMOS and CCD versions of the iStar.  The Shamrock support is a separate library from Andor and a separate EPICS driver, so although the EPICS Shamrock support is currently in ADAndor, I think it should be useable with ADAndor3 detectors as well.  You might ask them about this, since I am not sure how the hardware connection works.

Hello all,

We're looking to use some Andor iStar cameras, and I understand that ADAndor3 is best for the sCMOS version of the iStar, but we also want to use the CCD version at some point.

It seems like the standard ADAndor is best for CCDs but doesn't have the gating features implemented. 

To further complicate things, we want to use the sCMOS iStar with an Andor Shamrock spectrograph, which seems to be only compatible with ADAndor, not ADAndor3.

So, is it possible that we can have all of these features in one AD driver, using one Andor SDK?
