Hmm, some documentation on the non-JSON link types may be in the old AppDevGuide chapters and/or in the “Fields common to all record types” dbd.pod file. Wherever it is it’s worth looking at and expanding, along with the links.dbd.pod file. Good idea.

Correct. Using proxy records on the receiving IOC is best practice in such a setup.

Deserves mentioning in the documentation, probably.
