Since Pilz no longer makes their modbus module that our IOCs were talking to, we’re trying to get a newer Pilz PLC with their PNOZ m ES Ethernet/IP module working. The EPICS Ethernet/IP module we use expects an Allen-Bradley style interface,
with tag names. The Pilz doesn’t have tag names. From what I’ve found so far, Pilz uses CIP commands. That layer exists in the EPICS EtherIP module, though there’s not an obvious way for an IOC to access it directly.
Has anyone successfully talked to a Pilz PNOZ m ES Ethernet/IP interface from an IOC? Tips or sample code would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Garth
