Dear EPICS community,

I'm hosting the next Python workshop for the upcoming EPICS meeting
(see https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/37441/__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!f9TVNt1PXCFNltqLWu3Z1pfyABP8swfedTM7EfWdqMfAXEBHzu7f03LVE5YXHvm1MnAuVQztpdiQsRM-mGDyQWjvAffVeqw$ for inscriptions),
and I'd like to ask you the following question:

At that workshop, would you be interested in sharing (with a small presentation) how you work with Python and EPICS?

I'm still trying to figure out how Python could be integrated into our EPICS installations (when appropriate),
and I think this is a topic that interests many of us.
So, I’m asking for your help in sharing with our community how Python integrates into your systems.
(The more people who join in, the more interesting it will be to see trends emerge.)

During this workshop,
I would like to focus on PVA servers implemented in Python,
as opposed to "traditional" IOCs which are a mix of EPICS configuration files (.db, .dbd, .substitutions, etc.), Makefiles, C, SNL, etc.

In particular,
I think it would be interesting to discuss the Python program architecture
(you probably have design recommandations and/or preferences for such programs),
as well as their integration into production.

That being said,
if you’d rather discuss other topics related to Python (and EPICS) that you find more interesting right now,
please feel free to suggest them, I’m sure they’d be just as relevant.
Especially if you developped or worked on some specific EPICS-related Python tools that you're excited about.

If you are interested (or know someone who might be interested),
please contact me at: python-workshop @ stephane.plus

Best regards,

Stéphane
