Well, you don't need a fully functional IOC to get the list of records, the dbl command works before iocInit. So, you may be able to use the softIoc executable as a build-time tool. Just define the macros, load the databases, have dbl write to a file, and exit. Networking and such doesn't happen until iocInit, so using softIoc this way shouldn't be problematic. Probably ;)

And definitely low-effort and low-maintenance compared to unearthing the IRMIS crawlers...

The only thing... I'm not able to create a startup script that exits the softIoc after it loads databases and dumps the record list. Is there a way to do that? (Would make it a lot easier to include this in the build.)
