Although in a larger control system I would agree, in this particular case, I'm building an independent, self-contained system to test specific hardware systems.
The control interface is entirely based and controlled by an EPICS IOC, and I'm just trying to figure on what kind of display system to use.
As FRIB uses phoebus extensively, seemed to make sense to use for the display.
This is on a BeagleBone AI-64 system, which should be more than capable of supporting phoebus, as well as an IOC that probably has less than 200 tags.
I could just as easily place a Black adjacent to the AI-64, and run the IOC on that, and the display on the other.
Again, this is an isolated, self-contained system.

Hi David,
we are using aarch64 (arm) Laptops, running Phoebus on it:
https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https*3a*2f*2fphoebus.fhi.mpg.de*2fjob*2fphoebus-fhi-stable*2fjob*2flinux-aarch64*2f&c=E,1,iiDtUADljZo-gi1hnQopcKsVIHIg-0oIRvgBD8p0RjNdqYCm_qfMns6zzQ5e71cE1oQ-C2GJ4D6qmRaLLbEl5wKU_rlTetcLlM_m9j4oFSk,&typo=1__;JSUlJSUlJSU!!G_uCfscf7eWS!fmatHT8sxYoSRRK6metIKBORXVM-hP_G2mP2veI1TspCJkIB5Ymqk2yh6BIQVHTrklGobqqf-ip22rz48WCgToVNyg$
That should also run on the BeagleBoard.
I can agree with what Kay said. On our BeagleBone (Black) systems, only
the IOC (running under RTEMS: https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://github.com/hjunkes/RTEMS_BBB__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!fmatHT8sxYoSRRK6metIKBORXVM-hP_G2mP2veI1TspCJkIB5Ymqk2yh6BIQVHTrklGobqqf-ip22rz48WCsePeZbg$ )
is active, and there is no display system.
I keep the two strictly separate as well.
Gruss Heinz
