Folks,

R9-7 of the quadEM module is now available.  These are the release notes:

  • Added support for the FX4 quad electrometer from Pyramid Technical Consultants. This sold by XDSOxford for the synchrotron market.
  • Fixed occassional read timeout issues with the TetrAMM. It was using 50 ms timeout for both ASCII commands and polling binary data. 50 ms is too short for some ASCII commands.
Changed to 500 ms for ASCII commands and 50 ms for binary data.
  • Fixed several problems with the Range and individual Range[1-4] records. These were mainly a problem for the TetrAMM.
    • The readbacks for the individual range records Range[1-4]_RBV were not being updated when the value of the global Range record was changed.
This was a fixed in the drvQuadEM::writeInt32 method, where callParamCallbacks was only updating addr=0, rather than all of Range[1-4] record addresses.
    • The Range[1-4] output records were not being updated when the value of the global Range record was changed. This meant that the autosave values could be wrong, because it is the value of the Range[1-4] output records that are saved and restored. This was fixed by adding the tag info(asyn:READBACK,"1") to the Range[1-4] records, which updates the output record when the readback changes.
    • Previously the readback value for the global range record (Range_RBV) was set to the value of the channel 1 range read from the TetrAMM (Range1_RBV) in the readStatus method. This could be confusing, so the readStatus method no longer updates Range_RBV.
  • Added a Custom geometry that allows user-defined weights for computing the sum and difference values from the four current inputs, along with custom X/Y axis labels. Thanks to John Runchey from ANL for this.
  • Moved the code for device-specific drivers to separate directories, for example caenSrc, FX4Src, etc.
  • Change the Acquire record to PINI=YES so that the device comes up in the previous state when restarting the IOC.
  • Added NDArrayBase_settings.req to quadEM_settings.req so base class records are autosaved.
