Hi:

While still wondering if properties of a channel
or fields of a record need to be configured as
"commands", "static", ...

What about the status/severity and alarm subscriptions?
An alarm handler is interested in updates whenever
the severity of a channel changes.

Is a separate 'alarm' subscription as it's now
available in CA V3 required, or would a 'change' subscription
to the 'status' and 'severity' properties of a channel
cover what an alarm handler needs?
