PP and NPP don't really have to do with processing speed, they have to do with functionality.
PP means that when the link is read or written it will process the record being linked to. NPP simply writes or reads the value without processing the record being linked to. Whether to use PP or NPP depends on whether you need to linked record to process or not. Speed it not an issue: if you need the record to process use PP, if you don't use NPP.

Subject: Wonder about the processing speed
Hello core-talk~
Thank you for comment me before, about connecting IOC and CSS.
As you linked me to a teck-talk i can solve it the problem.
Im a univ student for interesting EPICS.
I succeed to build a IOC and CSS and connect it in a local ip enviorment.
But as i studying vdct, I have a question.
When i make records only using PP or NPP, which is more fast about processing speed?
Thanks,
