Oh, I didn't notice that. There are calls to macPushScope(handle) and macPopScope(handle) in iocshBody() which create a scope for each shell script or command, and which reset the variables given in iocshRun at the end of that sub-script. I would expect an "on error .." command to expire at exactly the same time as the variable scope.
