Is this process attached to a debugger?  I've only encountered SIGTRAP in the mechanics of breakpoints.

This may be a premature conclusion.  It's also possible that the code involved has a bug.
This code seems to work with gcc 4.3.2 (RTEMS 4.9.6).

Can you try running with valgrind to get some more insight?

Also, can you run the unittests and report any failures?

And thank you for testing the 7.0.3 release ;)
