Thanks Jeff. You are right, they are there in my beta-release version of
R3.12 (Beta1), but they are not yet architecturally defined (they are
unconditionally typedef'ed).
FWIW, Alpha/VMS has short=2, int=4, long=4 and void*=4, unlike Alpha/OSF
(2,4,8,8). VMS has internal constraints (specifically, its implementation of
address space mapping) which make it difficult for it to take full advantage of
the 64bit architecture of the Alpha. This constraint may be relaxed in the
future.
