Hi bits gang (if there still is one),
I want to use a mouse on a vxWorks system, as a user input device for
an autoguider. The problem is that I can't find anyone who has done
this on vxWorks, who can just drop some code on me. (The post I made
on the exploder didn't net anything.)
I am probably going to get a PC type serial mouse and hook it up to
either the tty port on the CPU, or to an RS-232 port on a XYCom VME
board. Have any of you ever interfaced directly to a mouse? I need
to know how to set up the port, and what messages come from the mouse.
With that I could cobble up something that would work fine, I believe.
I figure the best source might be very low level PC hardware
programming manuals, but can't find anything about mice in the books I
have access to. If you have done this, or know where I can find the
info, please let me know. If you just happen to have a couple of
pages of nice info, our FAX number is (808) 885-7288.
Thanks,
Bill
