I recall that a terminal server driver and device support was written at
Gemini.
In a tech-talk posting back in 1998, Maren Purves wrote
We're using drvAscii/drvSerial with Bret Goodrich's tnetdev, running
our serial line devices on a terminal server, over Ethernet. This
works even to the point that some time ago we had the serial line
devices at the telescope with the VME crate in Hilo.
