Mark is using MPF, which has a different driver to the tyGSOctal one,
hence the different initialization. The tyGSOctal driver provides a true
vxWorks serial port which is accessed in the Unix manner by opening a file
descriptor, whereas MPF uses its own interface which was designed for
EPICS. "ipacAddCarrier" is the only initialization command that will be
common to both drivers.
