Yes. You can include $(SUBSITUTION) macros in VDCT fields. The latest
build includes hierarchies and gives the ability to pass macro values
into lower levels of the hierarchy. 

A "generate database" command allows the hierarchical database to be
expanded into a flat database file. The syntax used to implement
hierarchies in VDCT will be incorporated into 3.15 so that hierarchies
can be expanded at load time should you desire.
