I need to communicate with a bi-directional parallel device using the EPP handshaking protocol from a VME/vxWorks EPICS system.
A few questions:
- I am using an MVME2700 CPU with the 761 transition card. This has a parallel port with full IEEE-1284 capabilities, which includes EPP. Is there a vxWorks driver for this port available?
- Anyone have experience with other modules (VME, Industry Pack, etc.) that can do EPP bi-directional parallel I/O under vxWorks?
I could use "dumb" parallel I/O card and implement the EPP handshaking in software, but I'd like to avoid this if at all possible, since I want high performance and low overhead.
Thanks,
Mark Rivers
