I think you refer to "rup" which is used in kekb-launcher (kbl). If
so, it expects non-standard option "-s" (search time), which is
supported in my implementation of "rup". On finding load averages,
some of the target machines may be down and we had to wait long time
for rup to time-out. We found my "-s" option cures such situation,
although it is not optimal.
You may find the source code at
<URL:http://www-linac.kek.jp/cont/src/rup-5.5.3.tar.gz>
"make rup" will build it.
usage: rup [-{t|l|h}r] [-n] [-sNN] [hosts ...]
-t: sort by uptime, -l: by load, -h: by hostname, -r: reverse
-n: numerical address (only with sort options), -v: verbose
-s NN: search time in NN seconds (default is 60)
By the way, rup server (rstatd) is not enabled on redhat linux by
default, and you need to enable it in rc?.d/S??rstatd.
Cheers, Kazuro.
