http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/modules/soft/asyn We encourage people to start using this support. Low level driver support is now available for: GPIB: vxi11 and Greensprings Industry Pack IP488 Serial: standard serial ports and also MOXA (An ethernet to serial server) EPICS device support is available for 1) devGpib - A replacement for the gpib support that came with 3.13 base and modified by Benjamin Franksen to work on worksations. 2) MPFOSI - The latest release uses asynDriver for serial support. What would be really great is for the streams support from Dirk Zimoch and the devAscii support from Allen Honey to be converted to use asynDriver. Dirk and streams users, We REALLY REALLY hope that you get a chance to convert streams to use asynDriver sometime soon. Allen and devAscii users, We REALLY REALLY hope that you get a chance to convert devAscii to use asynDriver sometime soon. Dirk and Allen, I believe that it will be easier to convert your support to use asynDriver than to convert your low level driver support to work on all architecture support by 3.14 and for all the devices supported by asynDriver.
