I will discuss with Marty how we should tackle this and what the "proper" behaviour of a record should be, but I definitely think that we need to review and fix the standard record types before the next release of Base. Thanks for the problem analysis, which Jeff has filed in Mantis as bug #144. How do you catch NaN? Different from most C/C++ compilers and standard C/C++ libraries, the one we use for vxWorks/Tornado 2.0.2 does not define "isnan()". On R3.14.x epicsMath.h is an OS-specific header that ensures isnan() and isinf() are defined on all supported platforms, so detecting NaNs should be portable provided you include that header. - Andrew -- Dear God, I didn't think orange went with purple until I saw the sunset you made last night.
