Epicureans:
A request to control an Agilent model 33210A Function Generator has come
to our attention. The instrument is or can be equipped with an ethernet
interface using the LXI standard interface.
Has anyone used such an interface, especially with Asyn/StreamDevice? Is
it as simple as making a TCP connection and sending GPIB-like commands
and reading a stream of data from the device? I have looked at the LXI
standard online, but it seems to be written in a different revision of
English than the one I am compatible with. A document on the Agilent web
site suggests that it uses port 5025 in a telnet-like way to send and
receive SCPI strings. If it is that simple, life will be good, here.
Thanks.
