Hi Scott,
I updated, rebuilt and uploaded the vlinac_multi.tgz file, apologies that it's
20MB but it does include binaries and library files for all the Unix-like
architectures we support. Most of the start* scripts needed modifications to
add support for some newer architectures, I hope they should all work,
although I haven't tested them all.

Note that MEDM, ALH and StripTool are all fairly old tools now and a more
modern example would probably use CS-Studio for the operator GUIs.
