Hello,
I am producing a protocol file for a home-made scaler and I am having a
problem. The scaler can be set up with a target count, then it can be
given a simple "Go" command to start counting. It will send a message to
the serial port when the required count target is reached. I am using an
I/O Intr SCAN record to search in the serial port data for that string.
It works for target counts that result in counting times of a second or
more. When the real counting time is less than a second, the reported
counting time is always more, usually around 1 second but at times a bit
less than that.
My question is, is there a way to increase the scan rate of the I/O Intr
record so that it detects the "target reached" string arriving on the
serial port quicker?
The counting times we expect are in the order of 300 ms. When I use
minicom to control the scaler directly, it sends the "target reached"
string as quickly as you would expect.
I am using base-3.14.12, asyn4-15 and StreamDevice-2-4, on linux.
Regards,
Dimitris
Yes, set the variable PollPeriod (in milli seconds). It defaults to the
value of ReplyTimeout.
