Hi Andrew et al,
Congratulations on the first EPICS version > Pi release! ;-)
We made an attempt to integrate the new EPICS base into ITER's CODAC
Core System, however we did not get very far because it seems that there
is still quite some work needed to be done to EPICS modules. I haven't
spent a lot of time searching for all the problems but basically I got
stuck with asyn module which fails to compile due to some changes in
eventRecord API (i.e. it tries to assign short integer to char[40] 'val'
field of eventRecord structure).
Either way, we would like to help you with testing of the new EPICS base
because at ITER it is not really required for operation, yet. However,
we will need at least to get all the modules successfully compiled.
This question more applies to module maintainers, but perhaps you
already know the answer. What are the plans with migration of (at least
the more common) EPICS modules to 3.15?
Best Regards,
Anze Zagar.
