Re: StreamDevice "No reply from device" messages

Hi John,

I am thinking of a complete re-work of the error logging and debug 
output mechanism. This includes the possibility to switch on and off 
messages  (debug and errors) for individual records and/or ports and to 
limit the amount of error messages and/or filter for error types. But 
this is non-trivial and takes some time.
