Dear all,
I have an epics installation. Things are working fine, I can store
data to the DB and access to it using CSS.
Now I an checking the command line utilities. caget prints the correct
value of the numbers but caput is not working fine.
It doesn't print an error message. Just says that the new value I pass
to caput is the the same as the old value i get with caget.
Where should I look to see what is happening?
Thanks in advance for your help

The "cainfo" command line tool will tell you if you can connect
successfully, and if you have the necessary access rights. (Which you
should have if caput does not show errors.)
Some records have mechanisms (like the DRVH/DRVL drive limits of the ao
record or the OMSL mode selection of many output records) that would
reject certain values written to the PV. Some fields of some record
types cannot be written to at all through Channel Access (see the Record
Reference Manual for details on that).
What value are you trying to write to which field of what record type?
