This worked. It now retrieves values from Archive Appliance as expected using the Channel Archive protocol.
As far as my needs this is all OK now. However, I did note that the arinfo test didn't work:
cat <<EOF > test.conf
[DEFAULT]
urltype = appl
host = http://localhost:17665/mgmt/bpl/getApplianceInfo
EOF
arinfo -C test.conf -vvv -a '*'
gave:
Command: info
Error
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/local/bin/arinfo", line 215, in main
yield haveArchive(*args)
KeyError: 'Section test.conf has no key urltype'
