I could not reproduce this on my 32 bit ubuntu (14.04 LTS) machine.
However, googling for the error message led me to this

which suggest your problem could be due to "hardened" glibc and/or tool
chain (gcc, ld). It would perhaps be a good idea to completely re-build
EPICS base (make -sj distclean && make -sj) and then try again with
autosave. Also make sure you have no (ubuntu package) updates pending,
especially ones concerning the tool chain (gcc, glibc).
If that doesn't help, you could ask ubuntu support forums.
