hello all,
I have installed and learned about MEDM, VDCT, synApps and module for Keithley 6487 .
Now what should be my next step to design  control system for Keithley.
please sugggest

Dear Paramveer,

Please use a subject line when writing mails. Many people won't even read mail without a subject.

Well, I don't even know what a Keithley 6485 is.
In general, control system development would be something like

  1. Collect your requirements
What functions do you need? What time constraints? Time stamping / synchronization / triggering? Failure recovery? What data in / what data out? What procedures do you need? Do you have different modes of operation? Calibration? Maintenance?
  2. Do your design
Design a system using the tools that you have, that will meet the requirements.
  3. Have your design reviewed
Have experienced people look at what you're planning to do, and give you feedback.
  4. Implement
At that point, this should be more or less straightforward.
  5. Test, debug, document
Demonstrate that your implemented system meets all requirements. Document the test results.

I have never done beamline controls, so I really don't know what you are facing.

There are lots of beamline people on tech-talk that know these things, but you have to ask specific questions they can answer.
"What should I do next?" is a question that only you (or your boss) know the answer to.

For generic instructions on how to use the tools, please refer to the training material on the EPICS web site.

Cheers,
~Ralph
