Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Hi,
I’m a developer working on the Ibex project at the ISIS neutron source. When setting up some new Galil motors on an instrument, one of our team was surprised when restarting the IOC cleared the high limit flag.
On inspection of the motor record, this seems to be because the limit flag is only set when the limit switch is hit and the motor is moving out of range (correct CDIR field). As the CDIR field is read-only, it can’t be autosaved so we don’t
see a way of preserving state of the limit flag when the IOC is restarted.
Can anyone suggest a way of preserving the state of the limits short of modifying motorRecord.cc?
Many thanks,
Adrian
