I gave permission to all users, $ chmod -R 777 /opt/epics/css-4.5.0/ I tried full path $ ./css -pluginCustomization /opt/epics/css-4.5.0/setting.ini But still doesn't work. Just for your information:- It was working fine few days before. I tried after some days and it stop working. Even i was able to set password for RDBArchive few days before. Actually i installed new CSS at new folder in same PC, it is working fine. I don't know, what changes i made in CSS that stop working. I tried with new workspace and delete .metadata Thanks Vishnu From: "Kasemir, Kay" <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, 10 Oct 2018 18:11:09 To: Vishnu Patel <[email protected]> Cc: techtalk <[email protected]> Subject: Re: CSS data browser to MySQL connection To avoid the "Cannot write password" error from the UI, check that the installation folder is writable. > I tried with new workspace and command line, setting password in file the result below > css-4.5.0$ ./css -pluginCustomization setting.ini Use /the/full/path/to/your/settings.ini, not just settings.ini . From http://cs-studio.sourceforge.net/docbook/ch06.html#sec_cmdline_plugin_customization : ---- ... always provide the full name to the file, even if it is in what you consider the current directory, because the Java runtime that is started by the Eclipse RCP launcher could have a very different idea of its current directory. If Eclipse does not find your -pluginCustomization file, it is simply ignored, there will be no error message! So if the settings that you think you put into a -pluginCustomization file are not having the desired effect, triple check that you indeed provided the full and correct path to the file. ---- -Kay
