Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
|
Hi Mark.
I think the controller might come from Pyramid Technical Consultants (http://www.ptcusa.com/products) who appear to offer some EPICS channel access support via their IG2 software. FMBO Oxford
are maybe packaging it with the ion chamber? Or PCT are reselling it? Or they both are? Dunno.
I’ve been able to find Windows DLLs for it and a Ubuntu binary at
http://www.ptcusa.com/downloads
However I haven’t found a pure EPICS support for it though the messaging protocol is described in the manual at
http://www.ptcusa.com/files/manual/IC101_UM_170104.pdf so
a ‘streamDevice’ solution might be feasible.
I’m going to try a pythonic approach using pyvisa and pyvisa-py for the comms and then caproto for the channel access.
Terry
