I was wondering if the following is possible:

 

##file1.db

 

record(ao, “test1”)

{

}

 

##file2.db

record(ao, “test2”)

{

}

 

##macro-filename.template

include “file$(FILENUMBER).db”

 

##top-level.template

substitute “FILENUMBER=1”

include macro-filename.template

 

I tried this pattern but received an error indicating file$(FILENUMBER).db couldn’t be opened, suggesting the macro is not expanded. Is this possible or should I look for errors in my naming/substitutions/Makefile?
