Hello,
On behalf of the epics core
java group. I am pleased to announce that the epics 7.0.7 java release is
now available for use.
You can download the binaries and source code from github
EPICS core java libraries
supported for openjdk11 and openjdk8*
JCA libraries
supported for openjdk11 and openjdk8*
or via maven
<groupId>org.epics</groupId>
<artifactId>epics-core</artifactId>
The 7.0.7 release
- Improved serialization and deserialization of vtypes ( more than 4 times faster
)
- Updated notifications on transport creation/destruction
- Additional configurations arguments for jca searching
Important Note:
Oracle
jdk 8 has reached eol. Redhat has promised to support a redhat openjdk8 till 2023.
The
7.0.7 release and the jca 2.4.6 are both compilable with java 8 however users are encourage to build these binaries themselves. The binaries hosted on maven
central are
compiled using openJDK11.
We would appreciate
feedback and support from projects still using openjdk8 who would like future releases
of the core libraries compatible with jdk8.
Thanks,
Kunal
