Pleased to announce a new release (v1.1) of Docker images providing
EPICS IOCs for testing, development, training, and simulation. All
images are available on DockerHub. For those who have been using the
start_xxx.sh and/or start_adsim.sh bash shell scripts to start IOCs,
please follow the Quick Reference instructions for (what should be) an
easy upgrade. Documentation is sketchy (suggestions welcome), at best;
a description of the XXX IOC summarizes the many capabilities existing
in the new IOC. Simulations include:
boomerang-style X-ray monochromator
simulated 4-circle crystal orientation
coarse/fine motion stage
optical table, 4-blade slit
Built with:
Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
EPICS base 7.0.5
synApps 6.2
area detector R3.10 (with newer additions from the master branch)
Separate images are provided for stock and customized synApps and area
detector. Customizations include the ability to start a new container
with a custom IOC prefix.
Implementations of more synApps features are planned.
