Hi all,

What was the final solution here?

I tried on one of our Control Room OPI hosts.
With the client side firewall off, everything worked as expected.
With client side firewall on, I had no access, even with using pvxs.

Hi Andrew,

As Michael summarized, the PVXS *server* responds in a different (and more conformant way) than the old server based on pvAcessCPP. Meaning, using PVXS on the client won't help. The solution is rebuilding your IOC with QSRV2 [1], which is based on PVXS [2], while noting that this stuff is still experimental and that defaults could change [3]. For us, the issue arises in a staging environment for a project where we can't use QSRV2, so we weren't able to test this, but given the nature of the problem, I'm pretty sure it should work with the usual one-way firewalls. If you can give QSRV2 a test drive, it would be great, and many of us would be grateful; this stuff should get more testing.
